Bill Sanderson Slade, the Founder and Principal Designer of Archetype, has a rich background in architecture and construction. After completing studies at QIT/QUT, he gained valuable experience working with prominent architectural firms in Brisbane. Drawing from his upbringing in a traditional Queenslander home and hands-on work with his family, Bill's knowledge of design and construction runs deep. In 2002, he founded Archetype Designs with his son Ben, and over the past two decades, the firm has consistently received design awards across various categories. Bill remains active in the building design industry, with interests in mentoring, yoga, and playing the ukulele.

Ben earned his degree in Architecture, marking the beginning of a journey fuelled by a deep appreciation for the interplay of form, function, and aesthetics. From the outset, he has been dedicated to pushing the boundaries of conventional design, seeking solutions that seamlessly blend artistic vision with practicality. Ben also has high IT software and CAD expertise, especially in the area of technical detailing and colour CAD 3D.

Having worked five years in collaboration with and under the mentorship of Archetype as well as being a member of the Building Designer's Association, Maria is combining her qualifications as an artist and Building Designer to create well crafted living spaces. Through her journey, she is developing a reputation for providing meticulous documentation. Specialising in residential projects, renovations and smaller new buildings, her passion lies in seamlessly blending functionality and aesthetics to provide delightful living environments.
